In a disturbing case of Love Jihad, Wasim Khan, a bus driver, allegedly posed as ‘Sonu’ to deceive and exploit a Hindu girl in Indore. Wasim reportedly spiked the victim’s drink, raped her, and recorded obscene videos to blackmail her into converting to Islam.
The victim, who works at a pharmaceutical company in Rau, frequently commuted between Indore and Mahu. It was at the bus stand that she met Wasim, who introduced himself as Sonu. Developing a friendship, they exchanged phone numbers and continued to communicate.
One day, Wasim invited the victim out under the pretext of meeting a friend. Trusting him, she accompanied him to the Medicaps area, where he offered her tea after a meal. The tea, suspected to be laced with an intoxicating substance, caused her to lose consciousness. Wasim then raped her and recorded explicit videos.
When the victim regained consciousness, Wasim pacified her with promises of marriage. However, he later used the videos to blackmail her, repeatedly raping her and pressuring her to convert to Islam. The victim discovered his true identity when she found an Aadhaar card in his bag, revealing that ‘Sonu’ was actually Wasim Khan. Confronting him about the deception, Wasim threatened to leak her explicit videos and harm her and her family unless she converted.
Terrified and desperate, the victim sought help from the Bajrang Dal. Accompanied by the district coordinator, Ram Dangi, she filed a complaint with the police.
The police have registered a case against Wasim under the Madhya Pradesh Anti-Conversion Act and other relevant sections. He has been taken into custody, and an investigation is underway.
This case highlights the need for vigilance and support for victims of such exploitation, as well as strict enforcement of laws to prevent and punish such coercive and deceitful acts.
