Saurabh Das killed over an argument by local Muslima [Assam, India]

The religious fanatics brutally murdered a Hindu youth on the 19th June at Lezai. His name is Saurabh Das. The killer disposed of his body in the Sesa River. Police arrested Rahimuddin Ali, Bahadur Shah Ali, and one more person. The murder occurred because of a love affair.

Local sources claimed, “Saurabh went to the house of Rahimuddin. They argued and quarrelled. Later Saurabh was murdered. On 20th June, the local public stopped the traffic on National Highway 37. The killing of Saurabh is a pre-planned conspiracy. The Administration must investigate this incident. A warning was issued by the local people, “We will protest and organise agitation if the culprits are not hanged”. To control the situation, the Dibrugarh Administration imposed Act 144 in Lezai and Bordoibam towns.
