Man Arrested for Molesting Hindu Minor Girl [Dhar, Madhya Pradesh]

The Madhya Pradesh Police apprehended Mohammed Salman, an Islamist, for allegedly molesting a young Hindu girl in Dhar. Reports indicate that the incident occurred as the girl was returning home from school, with Salman intercepting and assaulting her along the way. Following the victim’s disclosure of the event to her parents, a police complaint was promptly filed, leading to Salman’s arrest and an ongoing investigation into the matter.

In response to public outrage, local authorities announced the demolition of Salman’s unauthorized vegetable shop, located in the village where he operates. Hindu activists have vehemently condemned the incident, demanding strict action against the perpetrator. The victim, an 8th-grade student, has garnered widespread community support in her pursuit of justice.

The accused allegedly stopped the girl under the guise of asking for directions, subsequently taking derogatory photographs and subjecting her to molestation while threatening to circulate the images unless she complied with his demands. Fortunately, she managed to escape and seek safety.

Salman faces charges under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The demolition of his unauthorized property was pursued following urging from Hindu community leaders and the public.

This incident is part of a disturbing trend of Islamist-perpetrated crimes against the Hindu community, raising concerns about the safety of minor girls. Calls for stringent action against such perpetrators are growing, with recent cases prompting demands for interventions similar to the bulldozer actions implemented by the Madhya Pradesh government in other instances.
