[ Reported as seen]

Kanhaiya Lal Teli, a tailor in on Maldas Street in Udaipur, was beheaded near a bustling road in broad daylight, on 28th June, by two Muslim men for posting in favour of Nupur Sharma, for quoting Prophet Muhammad’s life according to Islamic religious texts.

The murderers were named Mohammad Riyadh Ansari from Khanjipeer, Udaipur in Rajasthan and his friend Mohammad, entered Kanhaiya’s shop wearing skull caps and posing as his customers. While Kanhaiya Lal was taking their measurements, one of the men attacked him. The video of this act has been posted online, in which Kanhaiya can be heard screaming his lungs out in fear of the Islamists who were there to ‘punish’ him, according to their popular death quote, “Gustakh-E-Nabi ki ek saza, sar tan se juda’ (there is only one punishment for blasphemy and that is beheading).”

The assailants proudly posted a video after the murder, were they confessed, “We have chopped off the head from the one from Udaipur. Oh, Allah, we will live for you and die for you.” They addressed Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in an abusive way and threatened to behead him as well.

“Oh Narendra Modi, listen, you’ve started the fire and will we extinguish it. I hope this knife reaches your neck as well, Inshallah. Oh, the people of Udaipur, chant, “Gustakh e Rasool ki Sazah, Sar tan see Juda (The one who insults Allah has the only Punishment, which is the separation of the head from the body).

A shopkeeper from the market, without wanting to be named, told Swarajya that Kanhaiya had put up a Facebook page commenting on the ongoing controversy over “blasphemy” by Nupur Sharma. Local Muslims objected to his post, and gave a complaint against him to the local police.

The police filed an FIR against Kanhaiya, but managed to sort out the differences between the two sides through talks. Kanhaiyalal returned home, but began getting death threats through phone calls and messages.

“Kanhaiya was not given police security despite very blatant threats to him,” the man said.

Before, the gruesome murder, Mohammad Riyadh Ansari recorded a video, where he asked all his fellow Muslims to murder anyone who ‘offends’ Muhammad.

Kanhaiya Lal Teli has joined the long list of victims who have been murdered for ‘blasphemy’ against Islam.
