In a swift and effective response, the police in Jaunpur’s Kerakat area successfully rescued two Hindu girls who had been abducted by two young Muslim men disguised in burqas. The police detained the accused, preventing a potential case of love jihad.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 3, when the two tenth-grade girls did not return home after school. Their worried families, unable to locate them, promptly informed the police.

During the investigation, it was revealed that two men from the Muslim community in Kusaila had abducted the girls while dressed in burqas to avoid detection. Acting on this information, the police swiftly apprehended the men and rescued the victims from Varanasi.

The girls were safely brought to the police station and reunited with their parents. The police have not yet disclosed the names of the detained individuals. CO Pratima Verma informed the media that the police are still gathering necessary information by questioning the accused.

This incident highlights the importance of prompt action by law enforcement in safeguarding vulnerable individuals and preventing potential cases of religiously motivated abductions.
