In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, a disturbing case of deception and abuse has emerged involving Aftab Khan, also known as Salman Shaikh. Khan, employed at a private hospital, has been arrested by the Pardeshipura police on charges of rape, blackmail, and attempting to force a woman to convert to Islam.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Narendra Rawat, Khan initially presented himself as “Sudeep” while working at Lakshmi Memorial Hospital, where the woman’s father was receiving treatment for paralysis. Under this false identity, Khan established contact with the woman, claiming to be a prospective suitor and offering to assist with her father’s medical needs.
As Khan’s deception continued, he began visiting the woman’s home under the pretense of providing medical care. Over time, he convinced her to have a physical relationship with him and promised marriage, all while concealing his true identity. The woman, who was married, eventually separated from her husband and son as a result of Khan’s manipulations.
The truth about Khan’s identity was uncovered when a young man recognized him at a temple. Upon discovering the deception, Khan began harassing the woman, demanding she convert to Islam as a condition for marriage. The situation escalated when members of a Hindu organization confronted Khan at the hospital and physically assaulted him.
In a separate incident, the Rajendra Nagar police arrested Arbaaz Khan from Khajrana for the rape of a minor girl. According to Police Inspector Siyaram Singh Gurjar, Khan, who had been assisting his uncle with tile installations, assaulted the daughter of a watchman in Scheme 103. The arrest followed a police report filed on Tuesday, with Khan taken into custody late that night.
Both cases underscore the pressing need for vigilance and legal action to address crimes of deception, sexual violence, and forced religious conversion. The authorities are actively investigating both incidents to ensure justice for the victims and prevent further abuses.
