Hindus made to eat halal [ West Bengal, India ]

News outlet Sritiochetona reported an incident when  former Deutsche Welle journalist and media personality, Supriyo Bandyopadhyay pointed towards the Halal ecosystem that is deep rooted in India. He went to a local restaurant named Rang De Basanti Dhaba in Kolkata and asked for  non-halal food. The staff informed him that it was unavailable.

Bandyopadhyay exposed the halal ecosystem through a Facebook Live session. In the video, it can be seen that an employee at the restaurant admitted that their meat is halal. When he demanded Jhatka meat he was at once told that the restaurant does not keep Jhatka meat.

Bandyopadhyay asked, “Halal food is for Muslims. Why should I eat halal food?”

The employee further admitted that majority of their customers are Hindus. After this, Supriyo Bandyopadhyay asked why only halal meat was being served even though most of the customers are Hindus. The restaurant authorities could not give any answer to this question.

Soon after the Live session, Bandyopadhyay started receieving threats, hateful messages and comments. Some of the phone numbers are from, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, etc. However, most of themused the Bengali language.

“Secularism” for many of the Hindus have become subduing and disrespecting their own religious values and adopting others. For others, it means imposing Anti-Hindu values, customs and practices on the Hindus, by force or stealthily.
