[ Reported as seen ]

Hindus were attacked while protesting by radicalized Islamists groups on 16 September, in the eastern section of Leicester, United Kingdom.   The protest was against the attack on Hindus and their properties by Muslim extremists on August 28, when Pakistan lost to India in India-Pakistan match for  Asia Cup.

Hunderds of Hindus were attacked by radicalized Muslims. The attackers hurled glass bottles at the protestors. In the videos of the incidents that surfaced on social media, Leicester police stood as mute spectators.

As per an official statement by the Leicestershire police, the violence erupted on Saturday evening after a group of men staged an ‘unplanned protest.’ “Parts of East Leicester experienced serious disorder yesterday evening (Saturday 17 September) into this morning (Sunday) when large crowds formed after groups of young men began an unplanned protest,” the statement reads.

“Officers attempted to engage with the group and remain with them whilst additional officers were called in. They sought to keep actions lawful but, regrettably, the situation led to disorder,” it further reads adding that two people have been so far arrested from the site.

Twitter user and Analyst Anshul Saxena shared some details on Twitter showing how plans were made to attack Hindus in the city. Anshul shared how radicals and Islamists were sharing the stories on social media and planning to attack Hindus.

It was the same barbarism on Hindus in a different land.

Further, in a letter to the Leicester Council of Faiths on August 31 this year, Chief Inspector Paul Allen falsely claimed that a small group of people called for the death of Muslims and Pakistan. He alleged that the provocative slogans were raised in Hindi, putting the blame on the Indian Hindi diaspora.

In his claim he said, “Unfortunately, a small minority of people began chanting in a racially offensive way, calling for (we believe) “death to Pakistan” and “Death to Muslims” In Hindi,” he had claimed initially.

On September 1, he denounced his own claims and said, “On Tuesday (August 28) afternoon it was reported that the chanting which had taken place, some of which was captured on video and was circulated on social media, included the phrases (in Hindi) “Death to Pakistan” and “death to Muslims”.

“We have investigated this and can find no verifiable evidence that there were any chants of “death to Muslims”. This is significant in terms of the context and I would encourage you to share this with interested parties,” Paul Allen stated on September 1, 2022.

To this, ‘Insight UK’, “Thank you Leicester police for accepting your mistake. Hindus of Leicester suffered immensely due to this grave mistake. We expect you will do justice to the #Hindu victims by charging the culprits. Your strict actions can only bring peace & security in the future.”

Further the Hinduphobic attacks took a a dangerous turn , A saffron flag was uprooted from the boundary wall of the Leicestershire Brahma Samaj Shivalaya temple right in front of a large British police posse which did nothing to prevent the vandalism.

Another video shows a saffron flag (probably the same that was uprooted from the temple) being set on fire.

In another incident, a car was intercepted by the Islamist mob and the driver brutally attacked. The car was later overturned. This reportedly happened near the Swaminarayan temple in Leicester.

It has also been reported that some Muslim youth tried to barge in and vandalize/loot a Hindu-run restaurant “Street Taste” but were chased away by police. Even a British Muslim posted about the aggressive and nasty behavior of the Muslim youth who burnt the temple flag and tried to attack the restaurant. One social media post by a car owner says they were attacked by Muslims on Green Lane road after the latter saw a Sri Ganesh murti on the dashboard.
