In a shocking incident in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh, a man named Rohit was brutally attacked and killed on Sunday, August 4th, by Faizan, Sameer, Farukh, Tarun, and others for not providing a plastic bag. The incident occurred near Kila-Parikshitgarh Stand under the Mawana Police Station precinct.

Rohit, who worked at a registry office, was at his father Vinod Sain’s tea stall when the attackers arrived on motorcycles and demanded a plastic bag. Upon Rohit’s refusal, an argument ensued, and the attackers stabbed him in the neck, face, and back with knives and other sharp weapons. Rohit fell to the ground, screaming in pain. Locals quickly gathered and managed to apprehend Tarun, one of the attackers.

Rohit’s brother, Ravi, described the incident, stating that Rohit was making tea when Farukh, his younger brother Sameer aka Gulab, Faizan alias Dubaj, Tarun, and two unidentified youths attacked him. Ravi, who was nearby, rushed to help upon hearing Rohit’s screams. Despite their efforts, Rohit succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital, repeatedly asking for water and asserting that he had only refused to provide a plastic bag.

The attackers attempted to flee the scene. Three of them changed clothes in a nearby tailor’s shop and managed to escape. The others sought refuge in Dr. Farahim’s shop, who allegedly aided their escape by closing the shop’s doors.

Ravi filed a complaint at Mawana Police Station against the accused Faizan, Sameer, Farukh, and Tarun. The police registered a case and have so far arrested three of the attackers. One of the accused, Sameer alias Gulab, was arrested in Boharpur and was injured while attempting to snatch a pistol from the police. He is currently undergoing treatment in police custody.

The incident has led to significant tension in the locality. The victim’s family and several locals protested outside Mawana Police Station, blocking the road. In response, SP Crime, Mawana Circle Officer, and SDM, along with police forces from four neighboring stations, arrived to calm the situation. BJP MLA Dinesh Khatik also staged a Dharna, demanding that all accused, including Dr. Farahim, be arrested before the last rites of the deceased are performed.

SP Avnish Kumar stated that five teams have been deployed to arrest the remaining accused. The police continue their efforts to ensure justice for Rohit and his family.
