Hindi Girl Raped [Dharwad, Karnataka]

In a heartrending incident, a 14 year-old minor Hindu girl was raped by Basheer Gadadare on Thursday (30 July 2020). 

On Thursday, while the girl was on her way to perform Pooja in their agricultural field, Basheer carried her away and sexually assaulted her. Deeply traumatized by this incident, the minor girl consumed pesticides the very next day and then informed her family regarding the incident. Even though she was immediately rushed to the hospital, the treatment was not successful and she passed away on Sunday. 

According to media reports, the police took swift action and the accused Basheer was arrested on Sunday night. On 8 August, Central Minister Prahlad Joshi, local MLAS Amrit Desai, Aravind Bellada and others visited the victim’s family to provide solace to them. They announced some relief package and assured the victim’s family that strict action will be taken so that the accused does not get released on bail.
