Deepu Jadam murdered for protesting against sister’s eve-teasing [ Madhya Pradesh , India ]

22 year-old, Deepu Jadam was stabbed to death by Sohail along with other relatives of seesaw’s owner Khaliq in Kartik Fair held in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. He was murdered because he was protesting against the eve-teasing of his sister.

According to Sanjay Mali, who also accompanied Deepu to the fair and is the eyewitness of the incident, said that he seesaw (Jhoola) belonged to Khalik Bhai and that all of them belong to Khaliq’s family.  They were 3 people downstairs, 4 people were sitting in the seesaw. The two accused sitting in the seesaw started teasing the sister and started making vulgar comments on her. When Deepu stood up against them. They brutally thrashed Deepu.

When the seesaw stopped, they called their co-religionists on the phone. Soon, 20-25 people gathered.

According to Sanjay,  Deepu Jadam’s father has already passed away. He was the sole bread winner of his family and also a student of standard 10. His mother, grandmother and two younger brothers at home are mourning his death.
