Christian family hurls abuses Hindu family and destroys rangoli [ Telangana , India ]

On the auspicious festival of Diwali, a Christian family wiped the rangoli and kicked the diyas placed by a Hindu family on the occasion of Deepavali. The incident took place in Archana Apartments, located in the Chikkadpally area of Hyderabad.

In a video that surfaced on social media, members of the Christian family- two men and a woman, hurled abuses at the Hindu woman and tried to beat her with slippers.

They demanded that the rangoli and diyas placed on it should be removed. The woman could not control her anti-Hindu feelings and at one point wiped the rangoli and kicked off the diyas.

The culprits were Shalini Deva Krupa (63), G.A. Christopher (68), Rajeev Abhraham (36) and Ajith Ebenezer.

Even when it is clearly visible in the video that it was the entrance of the Hindu household that bore the rangoli alongwith the diyas, the media houses have tried to down play it by labelling it as a ‘common area’.

Although, the religious hate has been proved by the Christian family’s actions, the police claims that the incident does not have a religious angel and tried to dismiss it as personal rivalry with past history.

Hindu custom is to put rangoli in front of the entrance. Calling it as a ‘common area’ and trying to blame Hindus for using it to practice their faith and tradition is nothing but one more attempt at shrinking the spaces where Hindus can freely practice their religion.
