In a heinous crime that has sent shockwaves through Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Alam alias Amanullah was arrested for attempting to rape a Hindu woman under the pretext of showing her a rented room. The incident occurred on July 6th in the CB Ganj area.

According to media reports, Alam lured the woman with the promise of a rental accommodation, only to lock her inside and assault her. Despite her resistance, he tore her clothes and tried to rape her. Her cries for help alerted nearby residents who rushed to the scene. They managed to rescue her and surrounded Alam, who then began to make inflammatory and offensive remarks against Hindus.

Alam publically declared, “Sab Hinduon ki ma chu*unga. Unse dhanda karwaunga” (I will fk mothers of Hindus. Will turn them into prostitutes), and further insulted Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This enraged the crowd, who beat him up before handing him over to the authorities.

Inspector Rajbali Singh of CB Ganj police station confirmed Alam’s arrest and stated that an FIR has been registered against him under sections related to rape, insult, indecency, and intimidation. “We’ve also gotten information concerning the video. As the inquiry progresses, more sections will be added against him,” Inspector Singh mentioned.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many individuals posting videos of the incident on social media and demanding stringent action. The community’s swift response and the subsequent arrest highlight the need for vigilance and prompt law enforcement action to protect vulnerable individuals and maintain public safety.

This case underscores the urgent need for stringent measures to address sexual violence and communal hatred, ensuring justice for victims and reinforcing the rule of law.
