North District of Delhi, Aas Mohammad pretended to be an army personnel, named Ashu Rana to lure a Hindu minor girl in his trap of Love Jihad. After the girl, a student of class 12 came to know of his real identity, she cut all ties with him. Following which Mohammad started to stalk her and post vulgar messages on social media.
Police said 21 year old, Aas Mohammad served as a cook on contract basis in Indian Army at Kalina Cantt, Mumbai and his previous antecedents are being verified. He is a native of a village in Meerut district, Uttar Pradesh.
Mohammad revealed that revealed that he initially became friend with the victim on TikTok platform where he introduced himself as Ashu Rana to the minor girl. They became friends and later also exchanged their mobile numbers as the application was banned in India in 2020.
The two also met four-five times in GTB Nagar, New Delhi. But after the girl’s mother got to know about their friendship, she inquired about Mohammad and found out his real name. Thereafter, the girl stopped talking to him.
To defame and harass the 17-year-old victim, Mohammad created multiple fake accounts on Instagram in her name and and posted vulgar messages with her photograph. He also started harassing the girl’s friends, relatives and teachers, and tried to extort money from the girl as well as her contacts.
Sagar Singh Kalsi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) said, “Aas Mohammad contacted her friends and teachers through these fake social media profiles. He tried to extort money from them and when he failed to do so, he abused them and posted vulgar messages with complainant’s photograph on social media to defame her.”
The boom in such Love Jihad attempts have been prevalent against the Hindu girls since a very long time. However, the intensity of it has increased lately. These radical Islamists have made it prevalent over and over again that once they want to target a Hindu, even if she realizes it early, she will meet an ill fate.
