15-year-old Prachi Rana molested and murdered [ Himachal Pradesh, India]

15 year old, Prachi Rana was found dead in her home, on the 5th of April, 2022 in Una, Himachal Pradesh. The body was found by the victim’s mother, who when returned from work found her daughter dead and soaked in her blood.

According to the police, Asif Mohammed entered the house around 1 PM on the pretext of giving a newspaper bill, Prachi who was a child of class 10 was unaware of her ulterior motives and left him in. After entering the house, he confessed his love to the little girl and molested her. When she resisted, the accused slit her throat and fled the spot.

The SP also added that Mohammed used to stalk Prachi whenever she stepped out of her house. He also used to work as a plumber around a year before and had also done some work on the newly constructed upper floor of the Rana house. He had been prying on her since a very young age. The SP also added that Prachi had a younger sister – it is not known if that child was in the house at the time of the murder.

Asif Mohammed son of Taj Mohammed has been arrested by the police.

The incident has enraged locals who gathered outside the police station and are demanding the police hand over the accused to them. They are also demanding that the accused be hanged. The Bar Association in Amb has refused to fight the case on behalf of the accused.
