A 16-year-old girl was reported missing from Subhash Nagar, prompting her parents to file a missing person complaint. Investigations revealed that Salman from the CB Ganj area had abducted the girl on May 9th. The police traced his location to Himachal Pradesh, where he had taken the girl.
For approximately two months, Salman evaded the police by moving between Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. Believing the search had lessened, he returned to Bareilly. Hindu organizations informed the police of his return, leading to his arrest and the recovery of the girl.
The investigation revealed that Salman had forcibly married the girl and converted her religion to Islam. The girl confirmed that she had been raped and coerced into changing her religion during her captivity.
CO Sandeep Singh commented on the case, noting that Hindu organizations had previously demanded action on July 31st. It was also revealed that Salman had made a prior attempt to kidnap the girl, resulting in an earlier complaint at the CB Ganj Police Station.
“Salman has been arrested. Strict action will be taken. Probe underway,” the police stated.
