In a shocking incident, Mohammad Nadeem, an auto driver from Haldwani, Uttarakhand, has been arrested for allegedly raping a 16-year-old mentally weak Hindu girl. The heinous crime has sparked outrage among local Hindu organizations, who are demanding strict action against the perpetrator.

The incident took place on Sunday, July 28, 2024. The victim, a resident of the Kotwali area and an 11th-grade student at a reputed school, was waiting for an auto at Mangal Parao to attend her music classes. Mohammad Nadeem, the accused, promised to drop her off but instead took her to a secluded place near MB Inter College, where he raped her inside his auto. When the minor protested, Nadeem threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident.

After committing the crime, Nadeem dropped the girl near Mangal Parao and fled the scene. The traumatized victim narrated her ordeal to her family, who immediately reported the incident to the police.

The police acted swiftly, using CCTV footage and other evidence to identify and locate the accused. Mohammad Nadeem, a resident of the Banbhoolpura area of Haldwani, was arrested on Monday, July 29, 2024. He has been charged under Sections 351(2)(3), 64(2)k, and 65(1) of the Indian Penal Code, along with Section 3/4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Local Hindu organizations have expressed their outrage and demanded stringent action against Mohammad Nadeem. Joginder Singh Rana, alias Jogi, a local figure known for his Gauseva (cow protection) work, called the incident a brazen act of audacity. He urged the administration to take strict measures against the accused and called for the verification of auto drivers operating in the city to prevent such incidents in the future.

This tragic event has highlighted the urgent need for increased safety measures and stricter enforcement of laws to protect vulnerable individuals.
