In a disturbing case from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, a man identified as Aaqib Khan has been accused of a prolonged scheme of deception and sexual abuse, posing as a Hindu named Aakash to exploit a young woman. The victim, a Hindu girl from the Bannadevi area, revealed that Khan, who is originally from Sarai Rehman Machhli Wali Gali, deceived her by assuming a false identity and establishing a relationship under false pretenses.
The ordeal began when Aaqib Khan introduced himself as Aakash on WhatsApp and grew close to the victim. Over the course of two years, he exploited the woman sexually and maintained control through threats and blackmail. Khan reportedly took objectionable photographs of the victim and used them to coerce her into complying with his demands. He also administered drugs to her on multiple occasions.
When the victim discovered Khan’s true identity and sought to end the relationship, he threatened her and her family with a gun, demanding that she convert to Islam and marry him. Despite her objections and the threats, Khan continued his abusive behavior, creating a climate of fear and manipulation.
The victim sought assistance from local Hindu organizations, and with their support, she reported the matter to the Bannadevi police station. The complaint was also supported by Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Mayor Shakuntala Bharti, along with other party members, who condemned the perpetrator’s actions and demanded justice.
The Bannadevi Police Circle Officer RK Sisodia confirmed that an FIR has been filed against Aaqib Khan. The police have initiated a thorough investigation, forming three teams to locate and apprehend the accused. The victim is undergoing a medical examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
The case highlights serious concerns about the exploitation and abuse of individuals under the guise of romance and marriage, and it underscores the need for vigilance and swift legal action to address such crimes.
