In a distressing case from Anjar in Kutch, Gujarat, a Sikh woman has accused Hussain Baloch, an Islamist youth from Jamnagar, of severe physical and mental abuse, forced conversions, and financial extortion. The woman has filed a First Information Report (FIR) at the Anjar police station, detailing her harrowing ordeal and seeking justice.
The victim, originally from Hoshiarpur in Punjab, relocated to Gujarat, where she managed her brother’s rental properties. As a divorcee with a 10-year-old son, she lived alone and was introduced to Hussain Baloch by an Islamic couple, Sameer and his wife, who were her tenants.
After receiving no support from her family, the woman filed a formal complaint on May 9. The Anjar police have registered a case against six individuals, including Hussain Baloch, his brother, his father, Sameer, Sameer’s wife, and Feroze.
Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghvi, has taken cognizance of the matter and transferred the case to the Local Crime Branch (LCB).
This case underscores the ongoing issue of forced conversions and abuse by radical elements, highlighting the need for stronger protections for vulnerable individuals in minority communities.
