On 27 December, A group of bikers ambushed a bus carrying Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Karyakartas (workers) on their way to the Deen Dayal Cow Science Research and Training Center inaugural ceremony in Mathura startling the passengers.
After some young males arrived wielding sticks and rods, the situation erupted into a full-fledged brawl. Although some suspects are still at large, police have arrested six of the assailants. On the night of the incident, motorcyclists began throwing stones at the bus carrying RSS members who were travelling to Mathura from a local post office.
When the motorcyclists got at the Mandi Committee, they verbally attacked the RSS workers and forced the van to come to a halt. Soon after, a throng formed, with many of them wielding clubs and rods, and a fight broke out between them and the passengers inside the four-wheeler.
The latter then phoned the authorities, and six of those involved in the incident were captured by police when they arrived in response to the distress call.
The attack was carried out on the false impression that the RSS bus was taking people to a wedding reception. According to Station Officer Sanjay Tomar, an Islamnagar resident who had been attacked earlier that year at a wedding in Pakbara alerted his family about the event. The assailants assumed that the culprits of the incident were in the car travelling to Noorpur. They mistook the RSS bus for a wedding party bus and began the assault, according to Organiser.
Sanjay Tomar further disclosed that RSS District Head Udayveer Tyagi has filed a lawsuit against the Pipila village chief, as well as his brother and nephew, alleging their complicity in the assault.
