Olive Rohit, a teacher at St. Aloysius’ High School in Kanpur, was suspended on October 17, 2023, for coercing a Class 10 student into having intimate intercourse with him and trying religious conversion. The event sparked worries about the safety and well-being of Hindu kids at the school.

The school’s suspension decision was made in response to demonstrations on October 16th. Protesters from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) demanded immediate judicial action against the guilty instructor. The school management opted to suspend the instructor pending further inquiry in response to the rising criticism.

The victim’s father said that the instructor coerced his son into a false love affair in order to convert him to Christianity. Despite prior complaints to law enforcement, no action was taken until the court intervened on November 7th. The teacher, her husband, and her brother, all of whom work at the same school, are all charged in the case.

According to the family, the school leadership, led by Principal Walter D’Silva, was involved in converting kids under the pretext of a love affair. According to the victim’s father, Hindus were derogatorily referred to as beggars, and there were limitations within the school, such as a ban on applying tilak and tying kalava.

In his plea, the victim’s father stated, “When a complaint was made regarding this matter in the school, the teacher admitted to her actions.” She then began seeking to locate the child’s residence in order to harass him, probably to prevent the matter from reaching court. The teacher’s brother also made threats, showing a desire to endanger life and property.”

Notably, a FIR was not registered until November 16 despite the victim’s father submitting a complaint on October 11, raising questions about the length of time the judicial process was taking. As of right moment, no one has been taken into custody during the Kanpur Police’s investigation into the situation. The investigation’s conclusions will guide any further action.

Conversations between the two have also gone viral. In a Facebook Messenger exchange, the kid inquires as to why she will arrive at 7:10, to which the instructor answers that they were requested to arrive at that time. The dude then invites her to come anytime she likes. A backdrop heart emoji can be shown in following talks. In one of the exchanges, the instructor writes, ‘Miss you, want you,’ and the youngster responds, ‘I love you.’ In one of the chats, there is a discussion regarding embracing. In another message, the boy is upset because the female instructor liked another boy’s image on social media.

The teacher then emphasises that the boy whose post she loved is similar to her brother. The male, on the other hand, threatens to like and comment on every girl’s post. In one conversation, the lady instructor confesses her heartbreak, talks of leaving forever and continually saying that her heart is weeping. The youngster, on the other hand, wrote, “You made me zero; I was very good.” The specified school is in Kanpur’s Cantonment. In its analysis, the court also ruled that the evidence presented by the victim’s family and the texts discovered on the teacher’s phone corroborated the charges in the complaint.
